HOW TO TAG A SHARK
Edwin and Gary Anderson play still play tag as adults, just not with their peers but with the sharks, they and other local Venice Pier Anglers catch in an attempt to learn more and help in the shark’s survival. The tags have a number and a vial, which contains basic information about the shark and contact details for global research group NOAA - which collates information on tagged sharks around the world.
The team is not discounting anecdotal information. The tags are just one part of a much wider study in helping to insure a better survival rate and in learning more about these creatures we catch and call sharks.
